Global law firm White & Case has expanded its Global Antitrust Practice with the addition of Belinda Harvey as a partner in Sydney.
“The addition of Belinda following Stefanie Benson’s arrival in September sends a clear message to the Australia and wider Asia-Pacific market that we are establishing a stand-alone antitrust practice that can advise clients on the full breadth of antitrust and regulatory issues they face,” said White & Case partner Mark Gidley, Head of the Global Antitrust Practice. “This significant expansion in Asia-Pacific will further bolster our global reputation as a leading antitrust practice, in addition to servicing the growing need for antitrust capabilities on-the-ground in the region.”

Belinda advises domestic and international clients in the energy, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, financial services, technology, manufacturing, consumer products and aviation sectors on all aspects of antitrust, consumer law and the regulation of essential services. She has a depth of experience advising on the strategy and clearance of domestic and cross-border M&A, with a particular focus on multi-jurisdictional matters, as well as joint ventures and other collaborative arrangements within the bounds of antitrust laws, anti-competitive conduct, investigations and matters of compliance. Belinda joins White & Case from Norton Rose Fulbright, where she was a partner, and previously worked in-house at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
“Belinda has a strong market profile as an antitrust specialist, with a reputation built on her significant merger control and foreign direct investment experience, including from her time at the ACCC,” said White & Case partner Joanne Draper, Regional Section Head Asia-Pacific EIPAF & Disputes. “Belinda and recent partner addition Stefanie Benson are two strong antitrust legal practitioners in the Australia and wider Asia-Pacific market, each with their own specific experience and distinct strengths that complement the other. Together they will create a strong, full service antitrust offering.”
Partner Donald Baker, a member of White & Case’s global Executive Committee, added: “Establishing an antitrust practice in Australia through our additions of Belinda and Stefanie significantly expands our ability to support our clients there and more broadly across Asia-Pacific, particularly in Southeast Asia where the Firm is extremely active. On-the-ground antitrust capabilities in Australia will also support the further growth of our energy and technology global industry groups, allowing us to provide clients in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region with comprehensive support for multi-jurisdictional deals and global cartel and other investigations. Belinda’s arrival marks the sixth lateral partner addition in Australia in the past 18 months, demonstrating our continued commitment to growth there as we celebrate six years in the country.”
