The Future of Mobile Ecosystems: Enabling a Choice for Market Players & Consumers in India

The issue of “Choice” as an indicator of consumer welfare and effective competition has gained traction as the Digital Economy and its special dynamics increasingly touch on more and more aspects of our daily lives. The powerful effects of economies of scale, low or negligible costs and the momentum of network effects has led to what many perceive as excessive concentration in digital ecosystems, with Mobile technologies being among the most salient and impactful. Our panel of experts looked at the particular case of India, perhaps the largest market yet to fully embrace mobile technology, with the aim of understanding the country’s particular situation, challenges, and opportunities in this area.
